Scope: Craft/hobby adhesives and sealing mediums (PVA, tacky glue, glue sticks, hot melt, cyanoacrylate, two-part epoxy, solvent contact/spray adhesives, fabric glue, decoupage/sealer medium, PVA-based wood glue) sold for crafts, paper, fabric, wood and model-making; excludes paints/inks/dyes and fasteners (sibling leaves).

Seed:
1. Glue equivalent of steel_hardness: viscosity/open-time is the glue analogue — one spec (thin-wicking vs thick-gel CA, or fast vs slow epoxy) that trades instant grab/fine penetration against gap-filling/working time, same visual grammar (fast-to-slow scale) the hobby CA community already uses for thin/medium/thick.
2. Perfumer persona notices smell/off-gassing order first: solvent adhesives (contact cement, spray, E6000) announce themselves immediately with strong VOC smell that fades as they flash off; water-based PVA is nearly odorless but is the slowest to actually finish curing. Captured via safety_profile + open/full-cure facets rather than a dedicated "smell" facet (no sourced data on odor intensity).

Branches:
- adhesive_family -> water_based_pva: "glues are a polymer suspended in water that sets as the water evaporates" (mechanism) supports routing to dries_clear_or_color.
- adhesive_family -> hot_melt: surebonder/zds temperature split supports routing to glue_gun_temperature.
- adhesive_family -> cyanoacrylate: gluemasters viscosity + accelerator pages support routing to ca_viscosity_grade and needs_accelerator.
- adhesive_family -> fabric_textile: aleenes_instafuse (iron-on) + e6000 (washer/dryer safe liquid fabric glue) support two different fabric facets (heat-set vs washability).
- adhesive_family -> decoupage_sealer_medium: graphicsfairy matte/satin/gloss line supports decoupage_finish_sheen.
- adhesive_family -> wood_glue: routed to water_resistance (ANSI/HPVA Type mapping is wood-glue-specific); titebond_uk/titebond_whisperer support it.
- adhesive_family -> epoxy_two_part / solvent_contact_or_spray / specialty_multi_surface_adhesive: no extra facets needed beyond common set; devcon/defusco cover cure-time claims, e6000_craft_tds covers the specialty-adhesive bucket.
- bond_permanence -> repositionable_removable: branch removed 2026-10-26 (see Corrections) — the "not marketed on water resistance" claim was general knowledge with no supporting source, and spraymount_flax's own page lists a repositionable spray adhesive explicitly marketed as moisture resistant.

Noise (spec-sheet rows seen but not made facets):
- Price/size/net weight (Titebond, E6000 listings) — banned as a facet per rules.
- Brand/manufacturer name — banned as a facet.
- Country of origin / UPC (E6000 TDS) — not an expertise signal.
- Specific net volume (oz/ml) variants — package-size noise, not a quality facet.
- Shelf life (CA glue ~1yr unopened/1mo opened) — real but minor; folded into needs_accelerator/vocabulary rather than its own facet to stay within budget.
- Glue stick diameter (7mm mini vs 11mm full) — mentioned in backfill_note of glue_gun_temperature instead of a separate facet; too fine-grained for a lean register.
- Mix ratio for two-part epoxy (1:1 common) — not surfaced; nearly universal across craft epoxies so low discriminating value.
- Service/cured temperature range (E6000 TDS: fully cured adhesive withstands -40 to 180°F / -40 to 82°C intermittently) — real spec-sheet row but single-sourced (only e6000_craft_tds states it; no second independent source found in budget) and narrow to outdoor/car/kitchen craft use; left out rather than adding a range-type facet on one source.

Corrections (2026-10-26):
- Added `specialty_multi_surface_adhesive` as a new `adhesive_family` value (plus a branch, definition, backfill_note and vocabulary entry) because E6000-style adhesives were the register's most-cited evidence source (4+ facets) with no bucket of their own, and were implicitly folded into `solvent_contact_or_spray` despite contradicting that family's non-flammable-vs-flammable safety default.
- Fixed `safety_profile`'s backfill_note so its "solvent/aerosol -> flammable_solvent_ventilate" default no longer applies to `specialty_multi_surface_adhesive` (E6000 TDS states "Non-flammable: Yes").
- Service/cured temperature range left out of the facet list and documented under Noise with a reason (single-sourced, narrow use case) rather than added as an unverified range facet.
- Added `then_ask: [water_resistance]` to the `wood_glue` branch, matching `water_resistance`'s own backfill_note that ties the ANSI/HPVA mapping to that branch.
- Added vocabulary entries for "Flash-off" (used in `cure_mechanism`) and "Elastomeric" (used in `flexibility_after_cure`), both previously undefined.
- Corrected the `e6000_lowes_tds` reference's `supports` text: it's a retailer reprint of the same manufacturer TDS as `e6000_craft_tds`, not independent corroboration, so it no longer claims a "cross-check." The Devcon 5-minute-epoxy triple (4min/45min/16h) remains single-sourced to `devcon_5min`; no independent second source was found, so it is not presented as cross-checked anywhere in the register.
- Removed the `bond_permanence: repositionable_removable` branch (its only effect was `makes_irrelevant: [water_resistance]`, sourced only as "general knowledge, no contrary source found"); re-fetched `spraymount_flax` and found a repositionable spray adhesive on that same page explicitly marketed as moisture resistant, contradicting the claim, so the hard elimination is dropped rather than re-sourced.
