Scope: "Eye Wash Supplies" (supplies > personal > eye_washes) bundles two product types buyers treat differently: personal squeeze-bottle eye rinses (home/first-aid-kit use) and portable, non-plumbed eyewash stations (workplace emergency equipment). Split by `product_type`; station mounting further splits by `mounting_type`.

Seed: ran scripts/seed.py --category eye-washes mentally per spend discipline (web tools were WebSearch-exhausted; no interactive seed answers available). Scope above and the bottle-vs-station split were confirmed against two independent regulator/institutional sources before building.

Branches: product_type -> personal_eyewash_bottle routes to bottle_size_tier/dispensing_style/intended_relief_use and drops all station facets; -> portable_eyewash_station routes to mounting_type/ansi_z358_1_compliance/reservoir_capacity_tier and drops all bottle facets. Sentence supporting the fork: DOSH's "Hand held squeeze bottles... do not meet the minimum requirements, and are only considered supplementary equipment" vs its own Figure 6, "Examples of Portable Eyewash Units That Meet ANSI Z358.1 Requirements." mounting_type -> wheeled_cart keeps reservoir_capacity_tier in play; -> wall_mounted makes it irrelevant, since a fixed wall unit's tank size is dictated by the install, not chosen freely.

Noise (left out):
- Exact ANSI Z358.1 flow-rate (gpm) and minimum flush-duration (minutes) numbers: only ever found as a general SDS first-aid convention ("flush for 15 minutes") in DOSH, not as a device spec with a second independent numeric source — dropped rather than invented.
- Mounting height, 50-ft/10-second reach distance, 16-in/3-ft/6-ft clearance zones (UW PDF): facility-installation specs, not attributes that differ between retail SKUs.
- Tepid water set-point of 90°F (UW PDF) vs the 60-100°F range (DOSH): two different numbers from two sources, and moot for our in-scope non-plumbed products anyway (no active water tempering) — left out rather than reconciled into a false single range.
- Fluid replacement interval / preservative shelf life for station tanks: no fetched source stated a number or policy.
- osha.gov, cdc.gov, isea.org, safetyequipment.org, hawsco.com, bradleycorp.com, guardianequipment.com, grainger.com KnowHow, ferguson.com, denios.com, jjkeller.com, industrialsafety.com, sellstrom.com, ehs pages at Princeton/MIT/UC Davis/Pitt/UNC/Stanford/Harvard/Wisconsin/Iowa State/Utah/Penn/Yale: all blocked (Cloudflare/Akamai bot-check or geo-block, confirmed via direct 403s from the fetching IP) or 404'd on guessed URLs; not used as sources.

Corrections (2026-10-26):
- Added `product_type` value `plumbed_faucet_mounted_eyewash` plus a third product_type branch (then_ask activation_mechanism/ansi_z358_1_compliance/nozzle_or_cap_protection), since DOSH and UW both discuss plumbed faucet-mounted eyewash as a distinct category and `activation_mechanism` already had `multi_valve_faucet_mounted` with nowhere to attach; updated product_type's question, definition, why_experts_care, and cold_start_question to cover all three values.
- Added `solution_type` to both the `personal_eyewash_bottle` and `portable_eyewash_station` branches' `then_ask`, and added `activation_mechanism`, `combination_with_shower`, `outdoor_or_indoor_rated`, `includes_drench_hose_accessory` (plus the new `bacteriostatic_additive_included`) to the station branch's `then_ask`, since those facets had a `cold_start_question` but were unreachable through any branch.
- Added mounting_type branches for `floor_standing` (then_ask reservoir_capacity_tier, same reasoning as wheeled_cart) and `countertop` (makes_irrelevant reservoir_capacity_tier, same reasoning as wall_mounted); added "countertop" to the split's question text.
- Added new facet `bacteriostatic_additive_included` (boolean) for portable stations, sourced to two independent live retail listings fetched this run: Safety Emporium's Guardian G1540 product page ("Additive protects against growth of bacteria, fungus, algae and acanthamoeba... Change tank water every six months and add one bottle of preservative") and Zoro's separate listing for the G1540BA-R replacement-bottle SKU, confirming it is a real recurring accessory, not just one retailer's copy. Also used the same G1540 page to confirm the G1562's stainless-steel-vs-polyethylene tank distinction noted by the checker, but did not add a separate tank-material facet (out of scope for this fix pass; flagged here for a future run) and did not add a barrier-free/ADA facet (same reason).
- Tightened `product_type`'s backfill_note: a title naming "station" but giving only a bottle fl-oz volume (the wall-bracket-for-bottle kit pattern) now resolves to `personal_eyewash_bottle`, not `portable_eyewash_station`.
- Tightened `solution_type`'s backfill_note to also match common buffered-saline brand names (e.g. "Eyesaline"), not just the literal words "buffered/isotonic/boric acid".
- Rewrote `solution_type.why_experts_care` and the "Buffered isotonic saline" vocabulary entry to drop the uncited "rinses with less stinging" comparison; kept only the isotonic-balance fact that `wikipedia_saline` actually supports.
- Rejected the fix asking for a second, independent source for `outdoor_or_indoor_rated` and `combination_with_shower`: re-fetched `wa_dosh_directive_13` and re-fetched `uw_ehs_webpage` this run and neither mentions freeze protection, insulation, or simultaneous shower/eyewash testing; several further university EH&S sites were tried and were 404/unreachable/DNS-failed, consistent with the blocked-sites pattern already logged above. Both facets stay single-sourced to `uw_ewe_design_standard`; flagging for a future run rather than inventing a second citation.
- Added vocabulary entries "Single-use ampoule" (facet dispensing_style) and "Bacteriostatic additive" (facet bacteriostatic_additive_included); updated `dispensing_style.cold_start_question` to name the ampoule option.
- Re-pointed the "Gravity-fed" vocabulary entry's facet link from `mounting_type` to `product_type`, since the term describes the non-plumbed vs. plumbed distinction (now sharpened by the new faucet-mounted value), not anything in `mounting_type`'s own definition/values/question.
