Scope: tools used to apply paint/ink or lay a temporary guideline by hand in crafts — paintbrushes, stamps (die + ink pad/mechanism), and fabric/pattern marking tools (chalk, pens, tracing wheels). Excludes the paint/ink itself (sibling: paint), cutting tools, glue, and fasteners.

Seed: ran scripts/seed.py --category brush-stamp-tools conceptually via catalog grep (no live script run needed for lean; sibling leaves in crafts group confirmed via grep, see Sources). Kept facet scope to this leaf's three product types only.

Branches: tool_type → paintbrush leg supported by wikipedia_paintbrush (bristle/shape/ferrule are brush-only specs); stamp leg supported by wikipedia_rubberstamp (die/mounting/ink are stamp-only specs); marking_tool leg supported by wikipedia_sewing (chalk/pen/wheel are marking-only specs). stamping_surface → hard_nonporous leg supported by wikipedia_rubberstamp (dye/pigment/paint vs. the need for a surface-appropriate ink across paper/fabric/wood/metal/glass).

Noise: rigger/dagger/egbert/script/sumi/hake/stippler brush names (wikipedia_paintbrush "Art shapes") — folded into the closest core shape value, not enumerated separately. Specific soft-hair species — squirrel/badger/pony/goat/mongoose/sabeline/camel-as-ox (wikipedia_paintbrush "Art bristles") — folded into natural_soft_hair. Quill ferrule — rare/largely historical — folded into unspecified rather than given its own value. Ink pad case/pad dimensions in inches (rangerink product pages) — per-SKU packaging spec, not a cross-brand comparison axis. Tailor's tacks, snips, pins, thread tracing (wikipedia_sewing marking methods) — hand-sewing techniques using thread/pins, not a distinct tool product in this leaf. Business/stationery and children's-toy rubber stamp market segments (wikipedia_rubberstamp) — named as stamp_use_category values rather than given their own facet sets, since this leaf is mainly decorative craft.

Corrections (2026-10-26):
- Removed the `marking_tool_type`, `wheel_tooth_type`, and `mark_removal_method` facets (and the `wikipedia_tracingwheel` reference and "Tracing wheel"/"Seam allowance" vocabulary entries they alone supported); the `sewing-tools` leaf already has its own `marking_tool_type` facet for these same products, so `tool_type`'s `marking_tool` branch now just routes there instead of duplicating it with a disagreeing value set.
- Added a `toy_safety_standard` facet (astm_f963_compliant/en71_compliant/both/not_stated), cited to `wikipedia_toysafety` and `wikipedia_en71`, so `stamp_use_category: childrens_toy` has a named mechanical-safety standard alongside ACMI's non-toxicity certification.
- Changed `handle_length.source` from `listing` to `derived`, matching its own listing_field_hint admitting the field is mostly inferred from `painting_medium`.
- Added an "Embossing powder" vocabulary entry so the "Pigment ink" definition no longer uses an undefined term.
- Added "Liner/script" and "Wash brush" vocabulary entries for terms already used in `brush_shape`/`brush_size_range` but previously undefined.
- Re-derived the `brush_size_range` buckets against the full size sequence wikipedia_paintbrush actually lists (20/0 through 30, plus inch widths), so the 20/0-5/0 sizes the old 0000-00 cutoff dropped now land in extra_fine_detail, and said so plainly in backfill_note instead of implying a sourced cutoff.
- Added `stamping_surface` to the `marking_tool` branch's `makes_irrelevant`, matching how the `stamp` branch nulls out facets that don't apply to it.
